About the role

You will have responsibility for the operational performance and continued development of multiple medical practices. Working closely with the owners and leadership team, you will have significant autonomy to identify opportunities, solve problems and implement initiatives that improve both patient care and commercial performance. A major part of your role will be helping attract and retain exceptional people.

You will lead the recruitment of GPs, nurses, Practice Managers and administrative staff, develop strong onboarding and training programs, and help create workplaces where great people genuinely want to stay. You will also have a strong commercial focus — understanding what drives the performance of a medical practice and implementing practical measures that improve efficiency, utilisation, revenue and sustainable profitability without compromising the quality of patient care.

Key responsibilities

- Doctor recruitment and retention, including developing proactive GP recruitment pipelines and building relationships with prospective doctors
- Recruitment, onboarding and retention of Practice Managers, nurses and administrative teams
- Developing and implementing excellent induction, training and ongoing staff development programs
- Managing employment, contractor and service agreements
- Leading, mentoring and developing Practice Managers across multiple locations
- Establishing explicit KPIs, accountability and performance expectations
- Analysing practice performance and identifying opportunities to improve revenue, efficiency and profitability




- Implementing initiatives that deliver measurable improvements in practice performance
- Improving appointment utilisation, workforce planning, billing processes and operational efficiency
- Developing systems and processes that can be replicated successfully across multiple practices

About you

- Significant experience in medical practice operations, healthcare management or multi-site operations
- Demonstrated success recruiting and retaining doctors and high-quality staff
- Strong commercial and financial acumen
- A proven ability to improve business performance and profitability
- Experience managing and developing managers and multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent understanding of employment and contractor arrangements
- Strong systems, process improvement and implementation capability
- Confidence using data and KPIs to drive operational decisions
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
- A hands-on leadership style and willingness to get involved when needed
