The Position

Geospatial Intelligence is seeking a number of GIS Foundation Specialists for an initial contract term ending 30 June 2027.

This is a full-time, fixed-term position based in Canberra.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Perform geospatial data production, capture, and maintenance activities in accordance with relevant standards and specifications.

- Conduct quality assurance and validation of spatial data to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency.

- Produce cartographic products and geospatial outputs to meet defined requirements.

- Support the maintenance and management of Foundation Geospatial datasets within enterprise systems.

- Follow established workflows, processes, and standards for geospatial data production.

- Assist in resolving data quality issues using standard tools and methodologies.

- Contribute to documentation, including quality reports and procedural outputs.

- Support geospatial capability outcomes through accurate and timely data production.

Desired Skills
- Demonstrated experience in GIS data production,



capture, and quality assurance within structured environments.

- Proficiency in GIS tools (e.g. ArcGIS/SOCET GXP) for feature extraction (2D and 3D), editing, and data management.

- Understanding of working with structured or complex data schemas and specifications.

- Experience in geospatial data quality assurance and validation processes.

- Ability to produce cartographic and geospatial outputs to defined standards and specifications.

- Ability to work in a team environment, or under supervision and the ability to work to tight deadlines

- Good communication skills, a mature attitude and good interpersonal and client service skills
- A strong work ethic with a proactive approach to opportunities

Qualifications and Experience
- Must have completed a relevant tertiary qualification in GIS or a related discipline or equivalent relevant experience
- A Baseline security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain appropriate clearances
