About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Accountant to join our Finance team in Melbourne. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent accounting graduate to build practical experience, develop strong commercial skills and gain exposure to the broader business in a supportive and collaborative environment.
As a Graduate Accountant, you will play an important role in supporting our Finance, Commercial and Operations teams and contributing to the successful delivery of our projects.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your accounting skills while gaining an understanding of how finance supports a project-based engineering business.
You’ll work closely with experienced members of the Finance team and a range of internal and external stakeholders, giving you valuable exposure across areas including project finance, invoicing, accounts payable, forecasting, management reporting and financial administration.
You’ll be encouraged to ask questions, take ownership and contribute from day one, with plenty of opportunities to learn and grow as your career develops.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing and issuing monthly client invoices.
- Supporting project reviews and project quality audits to help minimise risk and maximise project performance.
- Sourcing approvals, coding and processing creditor invoices.
- Responding to and resolving creditor enquiries.
- Supporting the broader Finance team with day-to-day accounting activities.
- Assisting with budgeting and forward revenue forecasting processes.
- Supporting third-party audit processes when required.
- Maintaining and administering company credit card statements.
- Assisting the Commercial and Operations Support teams with management reports, legal documents and other business correspondence.
- Maintaining accurate financial records, documentation and filing systems.
- Providing general administrative support to the Finance team.
About You
We’re looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded and keen to learn. You don’t need years of experience, we’re looking for the right attitude and the potential to grow.
You’ll ideally bring
- A recently completed or near-completed degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline.
- Robust attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong computer literacy and confidence learning new systems.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach and willingness to take initiative.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Professionalism and confidence when communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
Most importantly, you’ll be someone who wants to learn, contribute and build a career, rather than simply looking for a first job.
Why Join Us?
- Join a collaborative and supportive team environment
- Work within a respected Global professional services organisation
- Opportunity for professional growth and career development
- Flexible and inclusive workplace culture
- Hybrid working environment
- Exposure to diverse stakeholders and projects across ANZ
