Mantra Frangipani is set amongst tropical gardens and located a short distance from the picturesque white sands of Cable Beach in Broome. The property offers a range of self-contained one, two, and three bedroom apartments, the choice of two tropical swimming pools one with a waterfall and electric barbecue’s for guests to use at their leisure. On your days off, make the most of the famous sunsets, local beaches and tranquil waterways, immerse yourself in the rich arts and culture, or venture out to the captivating hiking trails that await your exploration.

Purpose

As our Grounds & Maintenance Assistant at Mantra Frangipani Broome, you will play an key role in keeping our tropical gardens, grounds and outdoor areas looking their best.

Working closely with our Head Grounds Person, your primary focus will be the care and presentation of our gardens and communal outdoor spaces. From time to time, you will also assist with general maintenance tasks within guest rooms and around the property.

This is a hands on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in presentation and is comfortable using technology and app based systems to manage tasks, inspections and checklists.

Primary Responsibilities

- Assist with the day to day care and maintenance of the property's gardens, grounds and communal outdoor areas
- Undertake general gardening duties including mowing, edging, pruning, weeding, watering, fertilising and garden clean up
- Assist with irrigation and reticulation checks and identify any faults or areas requiring attention
- Help maintain pathways, pool surrounds,



BBQ areas and other outdoor guest spaces to a safe and high standard
- Work closely with the Head Grounds Person to support garden improvement projects and the overall presentation of the resort
- Assist with general maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks within guest rooms and common areas when required
- Complete basic repairs and handyman tasks within your level of experience and competency
- Use mobile technology and app based systems to receive tasks, complete checklists, update work orders and record completed works
- Work as part of a diverse team while also being comfortable completing tasks independently
- Deliver warm and friendly service to both our guests and fellow team members

Skills and Experience

- Previous experience in gardening, groundskeeping, landscaping or a similar outdoor role
- Good knowledge of plant care, garden maintenance and the safe use of gardening tools and equipment
- Strong physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in Broome's climate
- Practical maintenance or handyman skills would be highly regarded
- A proactive approach with good problem solving skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using smartphones, tablets and app based workplace systems




- Ability to communicate effectively with team members, guests and contractors
- A positive, flexible attitude and willingness to assist across different areas of the property when required
- Available to work a flexible roster, including weekends and public holidays as required
