We’re looking for a commercially sharp, strategically minded Leader to help shape Defence Health’s next phase of growth.

If you’re energised by acquisitions, investment analysis, strategic procurement, supplier negotiations and property portfolio decisions — and you know how to turn complex commercial issues into clear recommendations, this role offers the chance to make a visible enterprise impact.

As Head of Commercial Acquisitions & Property, you’ll partner across the business to support strategic growth, disciplined capital deployment and sustainable commercial value. Reporting to the Enterprise Lead, Finance & Commercial, you’ll play a key role across acquisitions and investments, procurement, supplier management and property portfolio oversight.

Key responsibilities

- Assess acquisition and investment opportunities, including valuation,



returns, capital impacts, risks and value creation potential.
- Lead financial and commercial due diligence, transaction planning, negotiations and execution.
- Prepare clear, high-quality recommendations and investment papers for senior leaders, governance forums and the Board.
- Monitor post-acquisition performance, synergies and value-realisation outcomes.
- Lead strategic procurement and sourcing activity for significant expenditure categories.
- Strengthen commercial outcomes across supplier contracts, pricing, obligations, KPIs and risk management.
- Oversee commercial decisions across Defence Health’s property portfolio, including leases, renewals, relocations and workplace requirements.

About you

You’re a confident commercial operator who can balance strategic thinking with practical execution. You bring strong analytical capability, sound judgement and the ability to influence senior stakeholders with clear, well-supported recommendations.

We’re looking for experience in:

- Finance, accounting, economics, business, property or a related discipline.
- Transaction advisory, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, commercial investment, strategic procurement or commercial management.
- Experience in financial services, insurance or another regulated environment
- Financial modelling, valuation, commercial analysis and due diligence.
- Strategic procurement,



commercial negotiations and contract management.
- Senior stakeholder engagement, influencing and Board-level written communication.
- Experience with significant property portfolios, workplace strategy, complex supplier arrangements or procurement transformation (desired)
