Vinova are working with a leading infrastructure business to appoint a Head of Commercial into a senior leadership position across its major project portfolio.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of the commercial function within an established project delivery business operating across complex infrastructure and energy projects. You’ll have genuine influence over commercial strategy, project performance and how the function develops, while leading an established team.

About the role

Reporting into a senior Finance & Commercial executive, you will lead the commercial function across a portfolio of major projects.

You’ll work closely with Project Directors, Delivery, Finance, Legal and Procurement, acting as the senior commercial authority across project delivery. The role combines strategic commercial leadership with hands-on oversight of contracts, risk, claims, cost performance and major negotiations.

You’ll also lead and develop a team of Commercial Managers and Contract Administrators, with responsibility for improving commercial capability, governance and consistency across the portfolio.

Duties

- Set commercial strategy and governance across a portfolio of major projects
- Lead major contract negotiations, claims, disputes, variations and commercial risk
- Own commercial performance, cost control, forecasting, margin and risk reporting
- Lead, coach, and develop a multi-level commercial team

Skills & experience





- Senior commercial experience within infrastructure, energy, utilities or major projects
- Strong knowledge of major project contracts, risk allocation, claims and dispute resolution
- Proven experience leading and developing commercial teams
- Strong financial and commercial acumen across project cost, margin, forecasting and risk
- Relevant qualification in Commerce, Law, Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
