We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Superintendent - Health, Hygiene & Systems to support a major mining operation on a 14/7 roster.

This is a senior site-based role responsible for providing leadership across health, hygiene and safety systems, with a strong focus on ensuring that plans, procedures and working practices are not only developed, but effectively implemented in the field.

Working closely with the WHSE Manager, operational leadership, site teams and external service providers, you will provide specialist guidance and support to ensure health, hygiene and safety requirements are understood, embedded and consistently applied across the operation.

The role will suit an experienced health and safety professional who understands the demands of a major mining or capital project environment and can work effectively between systems, people and field execution.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate health, hygiene and safety systems across the operation
- Work closely with the WHSE Manager to develop, review and implement health, hygiene and safety plans, procedures and systems
- Work with service providers and operational stakeholders to ensure agreed plans and procedures are effectively implemented in the field
- Provide specialist health, hygiene and safety advice and guidance to operational teams
- Support the development and continuous improvement of health, hygiene and safety systems and processes
- Monitor the effectiveness of safety and hygiene controls and identify opportunities for improvement
- Ensure health, hygiene and safety requirements are translated into practical and effective field-based working practices
- Engage with site leadership, supervisors, employees and contractors to promote consistent safety standards
- Support risk management processes and the identification and control of operational risks




- Monitor compliance with relevant health, safety, hygiene and operational requirements
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external service providers to achieve strong health and safety outcomes
- Provide visible leadership and promote a proactive, consistent and practical approach to health and safety across site

About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Minimum 8 years' experience in health and safety, ideally within the mining, resources, major projects or heavy industry sectors
- Demonstrated experience working at a senior level across health, safety and/or hygiene systems
- Strong understanding of health, hygiene and safety management systems and their practical implementation in the field
- Experience developing and implementing plans, procedures, systems and safe working practices
- Experience working collaboratively with WHSE leadership, operational teams and external service providers
- Strong risk management capability and understanding of safety processes and controls
- Ability to translate systems and procedures into practical field-based outcomes
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across different levels of an operation
- Strong Microsoft Office capability and confidence using Microsoft applications for reporting, documentation and system management
- Formal training or recognised qualifications in occupational health and/or occupational hygiene




- Experience using recognised safety management systems, preferably SAI Global or similar systems
- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to systems, documentation and compliance
- Ability to work effectively on a 14/7 roster

What We're Looking For This role is suited to someone who can operate beyond simply maintaining existing safety systems.

You will need to understand how to develop the system, engage the people responsible for delivering it, and ensure it works effectively in the field .

Experience within a major capital project, construction or mining environment will be highly regarded, particularly where you have been involved in developing systems and practices through project delivery, implementation, commissioning or transition into operations.
