We're seeking a passionate HOPE for Pets (H4P) Case Manager to join our Housing and Homelessness Team. In this unique and rewarding role, you'll help people access safe housing without having to choose between a roof over their head and the pet they love.

By coordinating temporary foster care arrangements and supporting pet reunification, you'll remove barriers to housing, improve wellbeing, and create positive outcomes for both people and their companion animals.

About the Role

As the HOPE for Pets Case Manager, you will work collaboratively across the Homeless Outreach Access Program (HOAP) and Immediate Housing Response (IHR) programs to support people experiencing homelessness to access and sustain housing without having to surrender their companion animals.

Working within a strengths-based, trauma-informed, culturally safe and person-centred framework, you will:

- Coordinate foster care placements for companion animals belonging to clients experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
- Conduct intake, assessment and eligibility processes and develop pet reunification plans.
- Recruit, screen and support volunteer foster carers.
- Liaise with veterinarians, animal welfare organisations and foster carers to support animal wellbeing and placement success.
- Provide advocacy, referrals and practical support to help clients access housing and community services.




- Work collaboratively with housing, homelessness and community partners to achieve positive client outcomes.
- Maintain accurate case records, reporting requirements and placement documentation.
- Contribute to outreach activities, service coordination and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You You're passionate about helping people and understand the powerful bond between people and their pets. You recognise that keeping companion animals safe can be the key to helping someone access and sustain housing.

Essential Requirements

- Qualification in Social Work, Human Services, Community Services or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- Experience supporting individuals and families experiencing homelessness, housing instability or other complex needs.
- Experience within community services, housing, homelessness, animal welfare or related sectors.
- Strong assessment, advocacy, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of housing and homelessness service systems and referral pathways.
- Understanding of animal welfare principles and the barriers pet ownership can create when accessing housing.
- Ability to coordinate foster care arrangements and build positive relationships with volunteers, carers and stakeholders.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and using client management systems.
- Commitment to culturally safe, trauma-informed, strengths-based and inclusive practice.

Mandatory Requirements

- Current Queensland Driver Licence.




- Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
- Current National Police Check.
- Full Australian working rights.
