Hospitality All-Rounders | Casual Functions Team Leader

Magpies Waitara is seeking experienced, customer-focused hospitality professionals to join our team.
We are currently recruiting for:
- Permanent full-time and part-time Hospitality All-Rounders working evening and night shifts across gaming, bar and reception; and
- A Casual Functions Team Leader to coordinate and oversee the delivery of functions and events.
These opportunities are ideal for reliable hospitality professionals who enjoy creating positive member and guest experiences in a busy, community-focused Club.
Hospitality All-Rounders – Evening and Night Shifts
Our Hospitality All-Rounders work across gaming, bar and reception, helping to provide a welcoming, safe and professional experience for members and guests.
Permanent full-time and part-time opportunities are available. Part-time positions may suit applicants seeking two to three consistent shifts each week, while full-time opportunities are available for candidates seeking broader rostered hours.
The Opportunity
- Permanent full-time and part-time positions
- Evening and night shifts between approximately 6:00 pm and 3:00 am
- Weekday and weekend shifts available
- Consistent and predictable rostering
- Part time options of two to three regular shifts per week
- Opportunity to increase hours based on availability and operational requirements
- Work across gaming, bar and reception operations
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering friendly and professional service to members and guests
- Supporting gaming operations while meeting compliance requirements
- Providing bar service in accordance with Responsible Service of Alcohol obligations
- Assisting with reception duties, member enquiries and venue information
- Processing transactions accurately and responsibly
- Maintaining high standards of venue presentation and cleanliness
- Supporting safe,
secure and compliant evening and night operations
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across all areas of the Club
About You
You will ideally have
- Previous experience in gaming, bar, reception or broader club operations
- A current NSW RSA and RCG competency card, or willingness to obtain the required qualifications
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Confidence working across multiple operational areas
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A reliable, professional and team-focused approach
- Availability to work evenings, late-night finishes and weekends
Experience across all three operational areas is highly regarded; however, applicants with strong experience in one or more areas and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Casual Functions Team Leader
We are also seeking an experienced Casual Functions Team Leader to coordinate the successful delivery of functions and events at Magpies Waitara.
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising function staff, coordinating room preparation and service delivery, and ensuring each event is delivered professionally and in accordance with the agreed function requirements.
Hours will vary depending on the Club’s function and event schedule and may include weekdays, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating the operational delivery of functions and events
- Reviewing function requirements, run sheets and service arrangements
- Supervising, briefing and supporting function staff
- Allocating duties and monitoring service standards
- Coordinating room set-up,
presentation and pack-down
- Liaising with organisers, guests, kitchen staff and Club management
- Ensuring food and beverage service is delivered efficiently and professionally
- Responding promptly to guest requests and operational issues
- Maintaining responsible service, safety, cleanliness and compliance standards
- Completing required event handovers, reports and operational documentation
About You To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience supervising functions, events, food and beverage service or hospitality teams
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- The ability to read and follow function sheets, event plans and service requirements
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confidence resolving operational issues during events
- A current NSW RSA competency card
- Availability to work flexible hours based on scheduled functions, including evenings and weekends
- A professional, reliable and hands-on approach
