Roamer Brisbane is a busy, design-led hostel in the heart of the CBD, hosting travellers from all over the world. We are looking for a hands-on Housekeeping Team Leader to lead our cleaning team and keep our property to the high standard our guests expect.

This is a working team leader role. You will be on the floor cleaning and inspecting alongside your team, setting the pace, holding the standard and making sure every room is guest-ready.

What you'll do

- Lead and support the daily housekeeping team
- Allocate rooms and workloads to meet check-out and check-in deadlines
- Inspect rooms, dorms and common areas to ensure they meet our cleanliness standards
- Manage linen, amenities and cleaning stock, and keep waste and costs under control
- Train current team members and coach the team on standards and safety
- Report maintenance issues and coordinate room readiness with reception
- Keep the team compliant with workplace health and safety requirements
- Step in during peak periods and staff shortages

- Rooms cleaned and inspected before check-in cut-off each day
- Consistent pass rate on internal cleanliness audits
- Guest cleanliness ratings across online reviews
- Room turnaround times by room type
- Linen and stock usage kept within budget
- Completing the roster within budgeted labour hours
- Team attendance, retention and training completion
- Zero avoidable incidents and full WHS compliance

Essential requirements

- Fluent English, spoken and written




- Previous housekeeping experience, busy hostel experience is a plus; supervisory or team-leading experience preferred
- Valid Australian working rights (a visa with permission to work with more than 6 months left)
- Long-term commitment; we want someone who wants to stay and grow with us
- Physically fit to meet the demands of the role, with any medical or health conditions compatible with the physical requirements of the position (standing, bending, lifting and repetitive tasks across a shift)
