IronMerge is currently seeking an experienced HR Advisor for a 6 month FIFO opportunity. This is a great opportunity for an experienced HR Advisor to step into a site based mining environment and provide critical support multiple facets of the business.
About the role The role will provide administrative, procedural, and advisory support to supervisors, superintendents, and site leadership teams in managing workforce and employee matters. The role focuses on assisting leaders with documentation, process compliance, meeting preparation, record keeping, and people management administration.
The position is not responsible for determining disciplinary outcomes, performance management outcomes, employment decisions, or final recommendations. Accountability for all people-related decisions remains with the relevant operational leader.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership Support
- Provide practical support to supervisors and superintendents in managing workforce matters
- Assist leaders in understanding and following company policies, procedures, and people management frameworks
- Support leaders in preparing for employee discussions, performance conversations, and workplace meetings
- Help build leadership capability through coaching on documentation and people management processes
Documentation and Administration
- Prepare, review, and maintain people management documentation
- Draft correspondence including
- Coaching and counselling records
- Performance improvement documentation
- HR related meeting invitations
- Outcome letters
- Employee communications
- Maintain accurate confidential records relating to employee matters
- Track actions, commitments, and process milestones to ensure timely completion
Employee Relations Support
- Attend meetings as a support resource when required
- Provide procedural guidance regarding company processes
- Assist with managing communication between stakeholders
- Escalate matters requiring specialist HR, legal, or industrial relations input
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Experience in human resources, employee relations, or workforce management
- Solid knowledge of performance management and employee relations processes
- Excellent written communication skills, including preparation of professional HR documentation
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong stakeholder engagement
- Knowledge of Australian employment legislation and industrial relations frameworks
Desirable
- Experience in mining, resources, construction, or other operational environments
