About This Role

- Help leaders solve complex people issues and build stronger teams.
- Use your HR expertise to improve how people are supported at work.
- Travel to Beechworth Correctional Centre every four weeks and stay for two to three nights.
- Build your career while helping improve public services.
- Ongoing, full-time role earning $116,413 - $140,849 per year, plus super.

About Us People, Safety, Culture and Communications core functions span the breadth of workplace cultural, and people matters, including human resources policy and strategy; organisational culture and change; recruitment, redeployment, and retention; performance and development; pay, benefits and workforce reporting; occupational health and safety management; and employment regulations. Employee and Workplace Relations are responsible for management of the Justice portfolio's industrial relations program, the management of departmental employee relations issues including employee conduct, the department's Human Resource Business Partnerships and also administers the internal review of actions process

What You Will Do

As human resources (HR) business partner, you will advise leaders on complex people matters. You will help managers build strong teams and improve workplace culture.

You Will

- manage complex people matters, including performance, conduct, wellbeing and workplace conflict
- advise senior leaders on strategic people issues and coach managers through difficult matters
- build strong people management skills across your client group and support better workplace outcomes
- improve HR policies and processes while supporting change across the department
- lead important HR projects and help teams meet their legal and workplace duties.

About You You should have a qualification in human resources, organisational development, business or another relevant field.

Your experience should include HR work in a large and complex organisation.



You Should Also Have

- strong experience managing complex people matters, with specialist employee and workplace relations knowledge
- proven experience giving senior leaders clear advice and support on complex HR issues
- practical experience building people management skills and improving workplace culture
- clear thinking, solid communication skills and the ability to manage difficult conversations.
