We have 2 new and exciting roles in our Maintenance team to lead and coordinate North East Water’s hydro services!
The Hydro Excavation Truck Operator ensures reliable, productive and customer-focused hydro services to support our sewer and water network performance, maintenance, renewals and projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Hydro excavation, utility exposure and non-destructive digging services.
- Asset maintenance on sewer and water networks, including cleaning, flushing and debris removal.
- Reviewing inspection findings to identify asset risks.
- Supporting preventative maintenance programs and network optimisation initiatives.
- Responding to operational incidents, emergency events and maintenance activities.
- Inspections, maintenance, and fault reporting for vehicles, plant and specialised equipment.
- Ensuring safety and compliance, using risk assessments and high-risk work controls.
- Completing work orders, inspection reports and maintenance records.
- Liaising with customers, contractors and colleagues, and providing operational support.
The Hydro Services team will provide scheduled maintenance and emergency response across the North East Water operating region. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to get out and about in the beautiful north east region. Key Selection Criteria
1. Experience using specialised hydro excavation, vacuum recovery, jetting and/or CCTV inspection equipment in a utilities, water, wastewater and/or civil infrastructure environment.
2.
Demonstrated knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure maintenance.
3. Proven ability to assess risks, apply safety procedures and operate effectively in high-risk environments.
4. Demonstrated ability to solve problems and coordinate maintenance with minimal supervision.
5. High level of communication, teamwork and record management skills including the ability to maintain asset and maintenance information in systems.
6. Current driver licence (required).
7. Victorian White Card and Heavy Rigid licence or a willingness to obtain is essential.

Position Information
- Based at our Regional Headquarters, Wodonga.
- Full-time, ongoing including a monthly RDO and flexible work options (such as a 9-day fortnight).
- General hours of work are between 7:30am and 4pm (Monday to Friday).
- Successful applicants will be required to undertake pre-employment checks including a police check and pre-employment medical and functional testing.
- Applicants must have the right to work in Australia.
Salary Information
- $73,189 to $84,593 plus 12% superannuation depending on skills and experience.
- This role receives our industry and wastewater allowances which add over $3,000 to your remuneration per year!
- Future opportunity to participate in an on-call roster including attractive overtime rates and allowances.
