Hygiene Technician
- Shared Jundee–Thunderbox role with periodic Bronzewing support
- Permanent 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth

We are looking for a practical and motivated Hygiene Technician to join our site-based Health and Safety team, supporting Jundee and Thunderbox Operations with periodic support to Bronzewing. This permanent, full-time role is offered on an ongoing 8 days on / 6 days off FIFO roster from Perth.
Reporting to the Senior Occupational Hygienist, this hands-on role spans underground and surface mining, processing, maintenance and contractor workgroups. You will combine high-volume fit testing and field monitoring with improvement projects, direct mentoring and structured development toward an Occupational Hygienist career.
What you can look forward to:
- Conduct respirator and hearing protection fit testing, including scheduling, follow-up actions, and record management.
- Support workplace audiometric testing and health surveillance in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Complete exposure monitoring for dust, silica, diesel particulate matter, noise, hazardous substances, thermal conditions, and air quality.
- Maintain, calibrate, and manage monitoring equipment, samples, laboratory submissions, and testing records.
- Keep hygiene registers and dashboards up to date, tracking compliance and overdue requirements from employees and contractors, and provide clear progress updates to site leaders.
- Assist with workplace inspections, control verification, incident investigations, and improvement initiatives.
- Support potable water verification and other occupational health programs across site operations.
Where you’ll add value:
- Hands-on experience in occupational hygiene, mining, health & safety,
environmental monitoring, laboratory operations, or a related technical field.
- Experience with quantitative respirator fit testing (PortaCount or equivalent), hearing protection fit testing, and/or workplace audiometry is highly regarded.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels.
- Highly organised and adaptable, with strong time management skills and attention to detail.
- Analytical and solutions-focused, with the ability to identify issues and drive practical outcomes in a dynamic environment.
Qualifications:
- Relevant qualification in science, health, environmental, WHS, or a related discipline; occupational hygiene studies are highly regarded.
- Mine Air Quality Officer (MAQO) and Noise Officer (NO) qualifications, or the ability to obtain them.
- Strong digital, record management, and compliance tracking skills.
- Current Australian C-Class driver's licence (manual preferred) and flexibility to travel across multiple sites.
