Role Detail

As part of our pivotal wider Technology team, with over 100 nationally, you will be valued and respected.

This newly created role sits within the Technology Infrastructure team and builds on the established Identity and Access Management (IAM) strategy and design foundations led by the Technology Architecture team.

As the Identity and Access Management (IAM) Lead, you will contribute to IAM strategy and design, and own operational health, continual improvement and governance of identity, access management, privileged access and authentication services across the firm.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will bring deep technical expertise in modern Microsoft identity and access governance. You will work across BAU operations, continual uplift and project delivery. You will help shape standards, processes and controls that improve security, resilience and operational maturity.

You will work closely with Architecture and Security to support and extend that work, translate strategy into operational outcomes, and grow IAM capability across the firm.



You will manage and improve identity and access management services across Microsoft AD, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, Microsoft 365, hybrid identity, PKI and privileged access management.

This role suits a hands-on technical lead with deep experience in enterprise identity services who can make the complex simple. You also bring

- 7+ years experience in identity and access management and/or deep cyber security expertise.
- Experience acting as a senior or lead IAM engineer in a complex, secure enterprise environment.
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID and Azure access controls, including troubleshooting and root cause analysis across authentication, access and provisioning issues.
- Demonstrated experience implementing Active Directory administrative tiering, credential isolation and controls that protect hybrid environments.
- Hands-on experience managing and securing Active Directory Certificate Services and enterprise certificate lifecycles.
- Experience administering privileged access management platforms, ideally CyberArk.
- Experience with PKI, ideally including Active Directory Certificate Services and Microsoft Cloud PKI.
- Experience using automation and infrastructure as code approaches for Azure and identity-related services, including ARM and Bicep.
- Scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and Microsoft Graph API.
- Experience supporting identity lifecycle processes, including provisioning, deprovisioning, access reviews and entitlement governance.
- Experience operating IAM services in production environments, including monitoring, incident management, problem management and continual service improvement.
- Experience supporting audit, compliance,



access review or control assurance activities relating to identity and access management.
- Deep understanding of token mechanics, claims mapping, SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect and Kerberos.
- Experience with cross-tenant identity, B2B collaboration or external identity patterns.
- Relevant certifications, such as SC-300 Identity and Access Administrator, AZ-500 Azure Security Engineer or AZ-305 Azure Solutions Architect will be looked on favorably.
- Experience in professional services, legal, financial services, banking or another regulated environment with strong data governance and zero trust requirements.
