Balanced Earth Pty Ltd in Byron Bay, NSW, is looking for a full time Interior Designer to join our team.

Position overview We are looking for an experienced Interior Designer to join our sustainable building company. You will assist with planning, designing, detailing and supervising the construction of commercial, industrial, retail and residential building interiors to create practical, aesthetic and tailor-made spaces for our clients’ projects.

Qualifications and experience required

- A minimum qualification of an Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma
- At least three years of relevant experience
- High-level AutoCAD drafting skills, including the preparation of detailed construction documentation
- Experience with sustainable design is preferred
- Experience with both commercial and residential design is preferred

Responsibilities include




- Determining the objectives and constraints of design briefs through consultation with clients and stakeholders
- Researching and analysing spatial, functional, efficiency, safety and aesthetic requirements
- Formulating design concepts for building interiors
- Preparing sketches, diagrams, illustrations and plans to communicate design concepts
- Producing accurate, high-level AutoCAD drawings and detailed documentation for construction
- Negotiating design solutions with clients, management, suppliers and construction staff
- Selecting, specifying and recommending functional and aesthetic materials, furniture and interior products
- Detailing and documenting selected designs for construction
- Supervising the construction of interiors

Remuneration A salary of between $79,423 and $90,000 is offered, depending on qualifications and experience. Please apply with your CV if you believe you meet the requirements of the role.
