About the Role The Conduct and Integrity Division is seeking an Investigator.

The Investigator is responsible for appropriately handling complaints and undertaking investigations and enquiries relating to staff conduct, fraud and corruption and integrity matters, ensuring thorough, objective and evidence-based outcomes.

This is a fixed term full time opportunity until 21/09/2027.

Attributes The Investigator will research and apply advanced knowledge to operational problem solving, provide specialist administrative and corporate support, and draft investigation reports, briefings and correspondence and recommendations by interpreting and analysing data. The Investigator will also engage with stakeholders effectively and maintain meticulous records while upholding the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity.

The Investigator works effectively and collaboratively within a small, high performing team to contribute to a culture within the department of continuous improvement and the pursuit of excellence.

In performing the role, the Investigator will model and apply the Victorian Public Sector Values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

The Investigator will use their communication skills to:

- Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Understand the motivations, needs and wants of stakeholders and their impact on service delivery.
- Tailor communications according to audience and/or audience preference
- Prepare reports, briefs and correspondence on complex issues that impact at program or departmental level

The Investigator will use their developed critical thinking and problem-solving skills to:
- Define tasks to be delivered to meet agreed outcomes




- Coordinate and guide others in the execution of work activities and consider wider business context and integrity obligations when assessing matters
- Resolve issues through understanding or interpretation of existing guidelines, and where guidelines are not available, analyse ideas available and act through self, or in consultation with others to resolve problems
- Deliver tangible business outcomes by critically evaluating problems from multiple perspectives and delivering effective solutions, including recommendations
- Other duties as required.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience Mandatory: Experience in undertaking investigations or conducting enquiries into conduct matters

Mandatory: Current (or willingness to obtain) Employee Working with Children Check.

Desirable: Relevant Bachelor's degree or qualification in employment or government investigations.

About the Division The Conduct and Integrity Division provides expert advice and support to Victorian government school principals and other people managers in the Department of Education on managing employee conduct and performance including child safety concerns and fraud and corruption.

About the Department The department provides a wide range of learning and development support and services.

The department provides policy leadership, plans for the future of education in Victoria and leads key cross-sector collaboration.



The department plays an important system steward role by providing support, guidance, oversight and assurance across early childhood and school education systems, as well as directly providing school education and 50 new early learning centres.
