The Cook and Baker – Bondi Junction The Cook and Baker in Bondi Junction is looking for a Junior Pastry Cook (Full-Time) to join our busy and friendly kitchen team.

About the Role

Working closely with our Head Pastry Chef and kitchen team, you’ll assist with preparing high-quality food products for sale, including:

· Assist with daily production across pastry/sweet and savoury sections as required, including pastries, cakes, pies and tarts.

· Prepare and finish products in line with recipes, production plans and quality standards.

· Operate bakery equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, dough rollers and ovens.

· Monitor baking and product quality to ensure consistent appearance, texture and presentation.

· Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and workplace safety.

· Keep equipment, work areas and workstations clean, organised and ready for production.

· Monitor ingredients and stock levels and report shortages, quality issues or equipment faults.





· Work closely with the Head Pastry Chef and wider team to meet daily production and service requirements.

· Assist with recent and seasonal product development and contribute to improving production processes and quality.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

- Is a reliable team player with a positive attitude
- Works efficiently and pays attention to detail
- Has experience with baking or pastry
- Is committed to food safety and hygiene standards
- Is punctual and comfortable with early starts

Position Details

- Full-time position, consisting of 5 days per week
- Work days: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
- Shift times: 4:00am – 12:00pm
- Due to early start times, this role is best suited to someone who can reliably arrive at work by 4:00am (having a car is an advantage due to limited public transport at that time)

Pay $64,411.00 per annum (gross).
