The role
We are on the look out for a dedicated Laboratory Technician to provide crucial technical support for our Research & Development team - preparing samples, operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, assisting in the production and improvement of technical documentation, collecting and interpreting data, and ensuring the accuracy of results.
In this permanent full-time role, you’ll contribute to the quality control of our current product line up, success of research projects, and the development of new products (while adhering to safety, testing, and quality protocols aligned with the IonOpticks Quality Management System).
Based in our facility in Collingwood, this position is a great opportunity for a go-getter who loves being hands-on with lab instruments, figuring things out and getting things done. Key responsibilities
- Operate, maintain and troubleshoot laboratory and production facility equipment.
- Laboratory testing of product performance as part of production QC.
- Provide technical assistance and support to the Research and Development team.
- General laboratory maintenance tasks.
- Prepare analytical and quality control reports.
- Assist in the production and improvement of technical documentation.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn and willingness to take on additional tasks as directed.
- Work efficiently as part of a team in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.
- Diligently follow safety, testing and quality processes in accordance with the IonOpticks Quality Management System (QMS).
Key selection criteria
- Hands on experience with HPLC and/or mass spectrometry instruments and ability to operate, maintain and troubleshoot instruments.
- Critical thinker and analytically driven to resolve instrument issues in a rapid-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to identifying issues, and taking initiative to find solutions with minimal direction.
- High attention to detail.
- A positive work attitude, a willingness to learn new skills and a great team player.
- Confident communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills and an ability to reorganise priorities quickly.
- Diligence in dealing with data, details and record keeping.
- Intermediate knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Tertiary qualifications or work experience in similar disciplines (including TAFE certificates and diplomas) are highly regarded.
