Our Client: On behalf of our client, Chalice Mining Limited, we are seeking an experienced Land Access & Approvals Manager to join their growing team.

Mining is advancing the Gonneville Project, a world-class critical minerals development located approximately 70km north-east of Perth in Western Australia's Wheatbelt region. The project hosts a significant deposit of palladium, platinum, nickel, copper and cobalt and is currently progressing through permitting and approvals phase ahead of future development. Final investment targeted for 2028.
Reporting to the GM Environment & Community, this position will lead land access, tenure management, stakeholder engagement and statutory approvals activities to support the successful delivery of the project. This is a hands-on role requiring an experienced professional who can drive outcomes, manage complex negotiations and navigate Western Australia's regulatory and tenure frameworks.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading land access, tenure and stakeholder engagement activities across the project.
- Negotiating access agreements, compensation arrangements and tenure outcomes with landholders and other stakeholders.
- Managing statutory approvals, permits and licences required for project development.
- Providing strategic advice on land tenure, approvals pathways, risks and constraints.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with landowners, government agencies, Traditional Owners and mining tenement holders.
- Managing consultants and coordinating cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
- Supporting feasibility and development activities through the delivery of land access and tenure outcomes.
- Resolving complex stakeholder and tenure issues in a practical and commercially focused manner.
The Successful Candidate: We are looking for a genuine land access and tenure specialist who enjoys being on the front foot, solving problems and building solid stakeholder relationships. You will be a practical, solutions-focused professional with the confidence to lead negotiations, navigate regulatory processes and deliver critical tenure outcomes that support project advancement.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in land access, tenure management and stakeholder engagement within the resources sector.
- Strong working knowledge of the Mining Act 1978 (WA) and its application to mining and project development activities.
- Demonstrated experience managing matters through the Warden's Court
- Proven background negotiating land access, compensation and tenure agreements with private landholders and other stakeholders.
- Previous experience working on major mining, infrastructure, energy or resource development projects.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to identify practical solutions to complex tenure and approvals challenges.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with the ability to take ownership and drive outcomes.
- Legal qualifications or a legal background will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience working in a similar geographical or stakeholder environment would be advantageous.
