Your opportunity
Southern Cross University’s is seeking a Lecturer in Nursing to contribute to a high-quality, student-centred learning experience that prepares future nurses for contemporary practice.
You will make an impact by:
- Deliver a high-quality teaching and learning experiences for students in the Nursing discipline.
- Contribute to curriculum development, integrating flexible, blended learning modes.
- Engage in research aligned with the Faculty’s health priorities and publish findings.
- Participate in faculty meetings, community engagement, and enhance SCU’s professional profile.
What You Will Bring You’re a registered nurse and passionate educator who understands what it takes to prepare students for rewarding careers in nursing. You’ll bring university teaching experience, contemporary nursing knowledge and a commitment to creating engaging learning experiences that support student success. You’ll also be motivated to contribute to research, scholarship and the ongoing development of the nursing discipline. To succeed in this role, you will also need:
- Current unrestricted registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) is essential. A doctoral qualification or equivalent in Nursing or a related area would be highly regarded, although applications from experienced nurses interested in developing their academic career are encouraged.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Nursing students within a university setting
- Experience designing, implementing and evaluating cutting-edge curricula and teaching resources that enhance student learning
- Knowledge of contemporary educational technologies and blended and online learning environments
- An emerging record of research and scholarship, including publications and, where possible, experience contributing to research grant applications
Experience or expertise in mental health nursing would be highly regarded, but not essential. This is an opportunity to bring your mental health knowledge and professional experience into nursing education, research and the student learning experience.

Your opportunity is
- Part-time (80%), fixed term (12 months)
- Located at Lismore, NSW 2480,
with Gold Coast location considered for the right candidate. Relocation assistance is available, making it easier to join our regional communities.
- ACAD Level B. The base salary for a full time position ranges from $114,482 - $135,392 per annum, plus 17% employer’s contribution to superannuation. The total remuneration package is up to $158,409.
