Legal Counsel – Part Time 3 Days Per Week

Our client is a mission-driven, ASX-listed fintech group helping everyday Australians manage cash-flow challenges.

We're seeking an experienced Legal Counsel to join the leadership team in a standalone role. This is a rare opportunity to lead the legal agenda for a listed fintech — partnering closely with the CEO, CFO and Board to shape strategy while safeguarding compliance and governance.

Key Responsibilities

- Act as principal legal advisor to the CEO, CFO and Board on corporate, commercial and regulatory matters
- Own corporate governance and company secretarial functions
- Advise on ASX listing rules, financial services regulation, privacy and consumer law
- Draft, review and negotiate complex commercial contracts and strategic partnerships
- Liaise with external counsel and regulators (ASIC, ASX, OAIC, AFCA)
- Support product development, partnerships and M&A; activity
- Partner with the Risk & Compliance function to strengthen governance frameworks




- Monitor regulatory change and drive proactive compliance

About You

- 5+ years PQE, ideally within financial services, fintech or an ASX-listed environment
- Strong grounding in corporate, financial services, consumer and privacy law
- Commercially minded, with a pragmatic approach to risk and opportunity
- Confident partnering with senior executives and Board members
- Comfortable as a standalone legal function — hands-on and proactive
- Collaborative, ethical, and motivated by financial inclusion
