About the Role

Billa Da Dhaba is seeking an experienced Cook to join its kitchen team. The successful candidate will prepare and cook a range of Indian and Punjabi-style dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards while maintaining consistent quality, portioning and food safety during daily service.

Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 per annum plus Superannuation

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and cook a range of Indian and Punjabi-style dishes in accordance with established recipes and restaurant standards
- Prepare curries, vegetarian dishes, snacks and other menu items required for daily service
- Inspect ingredients and food products to ensure freshness and appropriate quality before cooking
- Regulate cooking temperatures and operate commercial cooking equipment safely and effectively
- Season food during preparation and cooking to maintain consistent flavour and quality
- Portion and present meals in accordance with established restaurant standards
- Prepare ingredients,



sauces and accompaniments required for menu items and service periods
- Prepare meals to accommodate dietary requirements and reasonable customer requests where required
- Monitor ingredient usage and assist with estimating food requirements for daily service
- Store, handle and rotate ingredients and prepared food appropriately, including within temperature-controlled storage areas
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of cooking equipment, workstations and food preparation areas
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Candidate Requirements

- Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or a related discipline
- Minimum 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Experience preparing Indian or Punjabi cuisine will be highly regarded
- Robust knowledge of food preparation and commercial cooking techniques
- Ability to maintain consistent food quality, flavour, portioning and presentation during busy service periods
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene and safe food-handling practices
- Good organisational, communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced restaurant environment
