nAbout the Role:n
nThis is a hands-on role for a tradesperson who takes pride in foundational vehicle restoration. You will be responsible for the critical structural and body repairs that form the core of the repair process. Working on a diverse range of vehicles, from modern cars to classic restorations, you will use advanced techniques and equipment to meticulously return damaged vehicles to their pre-accident condition. Your work will set the standard for the quality of the final product.n

nKey Duties and Responsibilitiesn
nBody & Panel Replacementn
n• Remove damaged panels, upholstery, and accessories to access structural areas; then replace severely damaged sections with OEM or quality secondhand panels.n
n• Fit repaired or replacement panels, realign gaps, and reinstall body hardware such as door locks, trims, and weather seals.n
n
nDent Removal & Surface Finishingn
n• Hammer out dents carefully to restore original contours, then fill depressions with plastic filler and file, grind, and sand surfaces to a smooth finish.n
n• Final check panel alignment and ensure surfaces are ready for painting (spray painting may also be required).n
n
nStraightening & Weldingn
n• Use mechanical and hydraulic equipment to straighten damaged vehicles and components.n
n• Cut and join replacement sections using MIG/TIG welding,
ensuring structural integrity.n
n
nAdditional Dutiesn
n• Assist in constructing or restoring custom designed, vintage, or specialty vehicles as needed.n
n• Maintain a clean, safe workspace and comply with all workplace health and safety standards.n
n
nRequirementsn
n• A formal trade qualification as a Panel Beater or equivalent. n
n• A minimum of 2 years of post-apprenticeship experience in a professional panel beating role within the automotive repair industry. n
n• Proven, hands-on expertise in vehicle structural repair, including the use of frame straightening jigs and measuring systems. n
n• High proficiency in MIG/MAG welding and a strong understanding of metal finishing techniques. n
n• A meticulous eye for detail and a unwavering commitment to restoring vehicles to manufacturer specifications. n
n• The ability to work effectively both autonomously and as a collaborative member of a dedicated team. n
n• A strong understanding and a proven commitment to adhering to all Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and environmental guidelines. n
n• A current driver's license.n
