We are currently seeking an experienced Commercial Senior Site Manager to join a major construction project on a freelance basis.

n

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and commercially aware Site Manager with a strong track record of delivering complex construction projects safely, efficiently and to programme.

n

The Role

n

As Commercial Senior Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management and delivery of the project, working closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Team, subcontractors and wider site management team.

n

You will be responsible for ensuring works are delivered to the required quality, programme, health & safety and commercial standards, while maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply-chain partners.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

- Lead and manage site activities from mobilisation through to completion.
n
- Coordinate subcontractors, site teams and suppliers.
n
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and programme requirements.
n
- Monitor progress, productivity and site performance.
n
- Work closely with the commercial team to identify and manage variations, change and potential commercial risks.
n
- Assist with programme planning, sequencing and resource allocation.
n
- Attend progress, coordination and client meetings.
n
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and project documentation.
n




- Ensure all works comply with health & safety legislation and company procedures.
n
- Manage quality assurance and ensure defects are identified and resolved promptly.
n
- Monitor subcontractor performance and hold teams accountable for delivery.
n
- Support cost control and commercial decision-making throughout the project.
n
- Liaise effectively with the client, consultants, designers and supply chain.
n
- Provide strong leadership and drive a positive, collaborative site culture.

About You

n

The successful candidate will have:

n

n
- Proven experience as a Senior Site Manager / Construction Manager on major projects.
n
- Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of project costs, variations and change control.
n
- Excellent knowledge of construction methods, sequencing and site management.
n
- A strong track record of delivering projects safely, on programme and to a high standard.
n
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction setting.
n
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
n
- Relevant construction qualifications, with SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid desirable/required.
n
- A proactive, professional approach with the confidence to make decisions and challenge where necessary.
