About the role The Maintenance Fitter is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and upkeep of a delegated venue, ensuring operational and risk management priorities are met, ultimately, delivering a safe and fit-for-purpose sporting venue to be enjoyed by the public, members, and stakeholders alike.
Key responsibilities
- With support from the Projects & Maintenance Manager, deliver a safe, sustainable ice surface that meets the needs of all sport and recreational users
- Deliver a safe, well-presented venue that meets the needs of all users
- Overall responsibility for the repair and maintenance of the venue's ice resurfacing machinery, always ensuring two vehicles are operational
- Ensure that the required EPS inspections are carried out and recorded monthly and any damage is rectified promptly
- Responsible for the training and appropriate supervision of operational staff in the secure and effective use of ice resurfacing machinery
- Maintain efficient and reliable plant operations
- Identify and manage risks in the delegated venue, regularly updating the Risk Register, and taking appropriate and timely action
- Maintain detailed work logs for all major capital assets and detailed records of maintenance items acquitted
- Address incident reports and risk assessments, taking a leading role in communicating mitigation and next steps to operational staff
- Support the wider Maintenance Team as and when required, including travelling to other venues
About you
- Formal trade qualifications in Fitting Machining, Mechanical, Electrical trades or similar
- Experience in petrol/LPG engine repairs and maintenance
- Experience in managing daily incidents with weekly tasks
- Computer literacy is required, for daily use of Microsoft Outlook and Calendar
- An understanding of ice surface keeping & plant requirements
- Strong understanding of safety protocols, risk management and compliance standards
- A working knowledge of basic auto electrics maintenance & repairs
- General understanding of refrigeration systems
- Current Working with Children Accreditation (Blue Card)
