Woodlands Enterprises is a long-standing, family-owned poultry business based in Beerwah on the Sunshine Coast. For more than 100 years, Woodlands has been growing chickens and eggs locally while maintaining a strong focus on quality, freshness and reliability.

We are seeking a Maintenance Technician – External Farm Maintenance to join our team, providing practical maintenance support across our poultry farms.

This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys fault finding, repairing equipment and infrastructure, and working across different farm locations. You will work closely with our External Farm Maintenance Manager, farm managers and other Woodlands team members to help keep our farms operating safely and reliably.

- Work across a variety of Woodlands farms and facilities
- Undertake preventative maintenance as well as fault finding and repairs

- Assist with equipment installations, modifications and upgrades
- Respond to breakdowns and help keep critical farm equipment operating
- Develop broad practical maintenance experience across a diverse agricultural operation

About the role Working as part of our External Farm Maintenance team, you will undertake scheduled and unscheduled maintenance across Woodlands farms.

Your key responsibilities will include:

- Completing preventative maintenance inspections of farm infrastructure, plant and equipment
- Diagnosing faults and undertaking repairs within your skills and authorisations




- Maintaining mechanical equipment, pumps, water supply systems, plumbing, fencing, buildings and other farm infrastructure
- Responding to breakdowns and urgent maintenance requirements
- Assisting with the installation, modification and upgrade of farm equipment and facilities
- Completing maintenance records, timesheets and job information using Woodlands systems and mobile applications
- Identifying recurring equipment issues and opportunities to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs

The role also participates in the on-call roster, currently approximately one week in every five.

About you

We are looking for someone who is practical, reliable and comfortable working independently across a range of farm environments.

Ideally, you will bring:

- Strong mechanical aptitude and practical maintenance skills
- Previous experience in maintenance, farming, agriculture, mechanical trades or a similar hands-on environment
- Experience with mechanical repairs and welding would be highly regarded
- Confidence undertaking fault finding and problem solving
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A reliable and professional approach to work
- Confidence using mobile phone applications to record completed work and timesheets
- Physical fitness and the ability to undertake active work outdoors in varying weather conditions

Applicants must be able to comply with all farm biosecurity, hygiene and site-entry requirements, including cleaning and disinfecting vehicles, tools and equipment when required.

For biosecurity purposes, the successful applicant cannot have any bird species or pigs at home, including chickens, ducks, budgies or other birds.
