Milne Feeds is our stockfeed business and a cornerstone of the Group’s integrated supply chain. From our Welshpool mill, we manufacture bulk and bagged feed for producers across Western Australia, supported by a state-wide depot and distribution network. It is a rapid-moving manufacturing environment where formulation, cost and productivity drive the result.

Milne Feeds is seeking a commercially minded Senior Management Accountant to join our finance team.

The Role The Senior Accountant is a critical role responsible for the end-to-end financial close and reporting for the mill and related entities. Reporting to the Deputy Group CFO, you will work closely with sales and operations, getting out on to the mill floor to understand the operation and what drives business performance, turning data into meaningful insights.

You will have strong technical skills that are complemented by an innate curiosity and excellent commercial acumen. With a drive for continuous improvement, aided by an in-depth understanding of the business, you will identify opportunities and constructively challenge the status quo.

You will own the accurate production of the monthly P&L; pack and work closely with business leaders to improve performance. You will be the person that the business relies upon to make sure that our costings, stock and margin are right.

Duties will include

- Own the end-to-end monthly financial close, including the preparation of the monthly P&L; pack,



cost centre and recovery reporting, variance analysis that explains what is driving the result.

- Perform multi-currency processing including month end currency revaluation.

- Inventory management including stock take reports, variance analysis and stock adjustments.

- Procurement reporting – own standard cost updates, purchase price variance (PPV) and weekly grain procurement reporting.

- Epicor expert – own product and costing set-up in Epicor and review regularly, review and post COS/WIP and formula batch transactions.

- Interrogate sales and scrutinise key cost lines including raw materials, labour, freight, repairs and maintenance.

- Prepare and post journals and accruals, reallocations, and complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

- Support audit, budget preparation and year-end processes, and provide cover across the finance team as required.

- Identify and drive process, system and reporting improvements — including the chart of accounts — and see them through to implementation.

- Fixed Asset management – calculating and reporting depreciation and capital spend.

- Trade finance reconciliations and set up of Hire Purchases.

- Coordinate the Accounts Payable workflow in Traild — driving timely invoice approval, checking freight rates and RCTIs, resolving PO and receipt matching issues.

- Ensure GST and FBT compliance and prepare the BAS summary for review and lodgment.

What We Need From You

- Minimum five years work experience, preferably within manufacturing, agribusiness, FMCG or a similar industrial sector, and at the same level of seniority.

- Strong understanding of manufacturing, standard costing and inventory.

- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.





- Qualified Accountant (CPA, CA, CIMA) – preferred.

- A dynamic skilled who welcomes and leads change in the organisation, with confidence and credibility to constructively challenge the status quo, question existing processes, propose better ways of working and hold the business to account for its performance.

- A proactive, commercially minded business partner who spends time on site with production, logistics, engineering and sales, building trust with non-finance managers and works with them to drive performance.

- Proven ability to manage high-volume data and meet deadlines, including a five working day month end close.

- Excellent attention to detail and solid cross-functional communication skills within the leadership team, functional managers and peers.

- Demonstrated experience with large ERP systems (Epicor preferred but not essential).
