About the Role

We are seeking for skilled and reliable Mechanics (Heavy and Light Vehicle) to join our remote workshop based in Ilfracombe, QLD.

Our workshop provides mechanical servicing, repairs and maintenance across a wide range of vehicles and equipment. No two days are the same, with work ranging from cars and 4WDs through to trucks, trailers, agricultural equipment, earthmoving machinery and other heavy machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanic who enjoys variety, working with their hands and solving mechanical problems in a practical workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Carry out servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance on a wide range of vehicles and machinery
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate tools and diagnostic equipment
- Work on cars, 4WDs, light commercial vehicles, trucks and trailers
- Service and repair agricultural, earthmoving and other heavy machinery
- Perform brake, suspension, steering and drivetrain repairs
- Carry out engine, cooling, fuel and exhaust system repairs
- Conduct inspections and identify potential mechanical issues
- Complete scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures
- Provide practical and professional service to customers

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- A qualified Light Vehicle, Heavy Vehicle or Diesel Mechanic
- Experienced across multiple types of vehicles and machinery
- Confident diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Practical, reliable and safety-conscious




- Comfortable working in a remote environment
- Willing to tackle a variety of jobs and learn new equipment
- Able to communicate effectively with customers and the workshop team
- Committed to producing quality workmanship

Experience with trucks, agricultural equipment, earthmoving machinery, hydraulics, diesel engines and auto electrical systems will be highly regarded.

Skills & Experience

Essential:

- Relevant mechanical trade qualification
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical repairs and servicing
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
- Current driver's licence
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety

Desirable:

- Heavy vehicle or diesel experience
- Experience with agricultural and earthmoving machinery
- Hydraulic system experience
- Auto electrical and diagnostic experience
- Welding and fabrication skills
- Air-conditioning experience
- Experience working in rural or remote environments
