Thurlow Metal Recycling is a busy Tasmanian scrap metal recycling business looking for a reliable Yard Hands to join our Bridgewater team. This is a hands-on, physical role suited to someone who works hard, follows safety procedures, and takes pride in a clean, well-run yard.

About the Role:

- Sorting, grading, and processing scrap metal
- Loading and unloading vehicles and containers
- Keeping the yard clean, organised, and secure
- Operating hydraulic shears, forklifts, and other yard equipment
- Plasma/oxy-LPG cutting tasks
- Following all site safety procedures and EPA site requirements
- Directing and assisting customers on site

- Yard maintenance
- Maintaining a safe work environment

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

- Physically fit and comfortable with manual labour
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic




- Forklift licence highly regarded but not essential
- Able to work as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test

Highly Desirable:

- Previous yard, warehouse, or labouring experience an advantage
- Experience in scrap metal, machinery dismantling, or heavy equipment teardown
- White Card (preferred but not essential)
- Mechanical aptitude or ability to identify metals (bonus)
