About the role A Point Dental Lab is seeking an experienced Orthodontic Technician to join our growing team in Wantirna South, Victoria. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the production of high-quality orthodontic appliances and devices. As an Orthodontic Technician, you will be responsible for fabricating and customising orthodontic components that directly impact patient outcomes and treatment success.

This position is integral to our operations and requires precision, technical expertise, and a commitment to excellence in dental laboratory work.

Key responsibilities

- Fabricate and construct orthodontic appliances, including brackets, bands, wires, and custom devices according to clinical specifications and treatment plans
- Interpret clinical notes and prescription requirements from orthodontists to ensure accurate appliance design and manufacture
- Operate and maintain specialised orthodontic laboratory equipment, including wire-bending machines, welding equipment
- Perform quality control checks on all orthodontic appliances to ensure they meet clinical and aesthetic standards before delivery
- Prepare and manage orthodontic cases through various stages of production, maintaining detailed records and documentation
- Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with clinical staff to resolve any appliance-related concerns
- Maintain a clean, organised and compliant laboratory workspace in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Stay current with industry developments and contribute to continuous improvement of laboratory processes and procedures

What we're looking for

- Completed formal training or qualification in orthodontic technology or dental laboratory technology with a specialisation in orthodontics
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience working as an Orthodontic Technician in a dental laboratory setting
- Proficiency in fabricating fixed and removable orthodontic appliances,



including custom devices
- Strong working knowledge of orthodontic terminology, materials, and treatment mechanics
- Skilled in operating dental laboratory equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in all work undertaken
- Strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with orthodontists and clinical staff
- Current knowledge of laboratory health and safety standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet production deadlines consistently
