We are seeking an organised and approachable Payroll and People & Culture Officer to join our Corporate Services team.

Reporting to the Manager People and Culture, you will coordinate accurate and timely payroll processing and provide practical support across a range of HR activities.

Across a typical fortnight, you will manage the end-to-end payroll cycle, from reviewing timesheets and processing leave and employment changes to applying the correct pay rates, allowances and deductions. You will calculate termination payments as required, check and reconcile payroll, complete Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting and administer superannuation contributions. You will also respond to employee pay and entitlement enquiries, resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate records, helping ensure employees are paid correctly and on time.

Your work will also include recruitment administration, preparing employment letters, coordinating onboarding and departures, maintaining employee records and supporting training and development.

This role will suit someone who enjoys working with both people and systems, takes pride in getting the details right and can balance regular deadlines with a variety of administrative tasks.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or part-time employment.

Please specify your preferred number of hours per week and working days in your application. The working arrangement will be discussed with the successful applicant, taking into account payroll deadlines and service requirements.

To be successful in this role, you will have an ability to work with numbers, an ability to interpret and apply enterprise agreements, awards, policies and procedures. You will be organised, accurate and able to manage competing priorities and meet payroll deadlines, while providing clear, helpful advice to employees. Sound judgement, discretion and a commitment to confidentiality are essential, along with a willingness to contribute to recruitment, employee administration and broader People and Culture activities.

Whilst experience in payroll or human resources would be an advantage, transferrable skills from other backgrounds will be highly regarded and training for all aspects of the position will be provided.

How To Apply

Please submit your resume and a cover letter addressing relevant skills to the position. Include your preference for full-time or part-time employment, your preferred weekly hours and working days.
