The Opportunity A key leadership role with genuine influence, reporting directly to the CEO, with the opportunity to shape the people function for one of Melbourne's most dynamic, fastest-growing business precincts. We are seeking an experienced, commercially minded People & Culture Manager to lead key people initiatives and play a critical role in building organisational capability, strengthening leadership, maintaining compliance, and enhancing the overall employee experience.
About the Organisation
Our client is a large-scale aviation, business and community precinct located just 15 minutes from Melbourne's CBD, home to hundreds of businesses and thousands of daily workers. Spanning a diverse mix of aviation, retail, automotive, hospitality, health and commercial office space, the precinct has grown into one of Melbourne's most significant privately owned business hubs, with substantial further growth projected in the years ahead.
Role responsibilities The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both a strategic and operational level, with the ability to develop and drive HR strategy into practical outcomes and will include;
● Capability development
● Talent management
● Leadership effectiveness
● Workforce planning
● HR Compliance and governance
● Employee engagement and organisational culture
Key Priorities
● Embedding a company-wide performance and development framework, including annual talent and succession planning
● Designing and coordinating leadership development initiatives, including regular one-on-ones and development conversations
● Championing digital transformation across People & Culture, including adoption of AI and digital tools
● Leading HRIS, ensuring utilisation and governance
● Delivering end-to-end recruitment and onboarding for priority roles, supporting broader workforce planning
● Coordinating remuneration benchmarking and enhancing the employee value proposition
● Reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures to maintain compliance and governance
● Delivering wellbeing, recognition and employee engagement programs, including the annual all-staff offsite
About You To be suitable for this role, you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
● 10+ years of demonstrated experience in a generalist HR or People & Culture leadership role
● Strong capability in talent management, succession planning and leadership development
● Experience managing end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning initiatives
● Knowledge of remuneration benchmarking, employee benefits and HR compliance
● Experience acting as a business lead for an HRIS, with exposure to Employment Hero or a similar integrated platform highly regarded
● A track record of streamlining manual processes through automation,
workflow design and continuous improvement
● Sound, up-to-date knowledge of employment legislation and governance requirements
● Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management skills
● A pragmatic, hands-on approach, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of the business
Qualifications & Experience
● A tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, together with demonstrated experience in a senior, generalist HR or People & Culture leadership role
