About The Role The Strategy & Planning Manager plays a key organisation-wide role in connecting strategy, priorities and business planning across Ageing Australia. Reporting to the Chief Financial & Operating Officer, this role leads the organisation-wide planning approach, bringing together business unit plans and priorities to strengthen alignment, identify interdependencies and competing priorities, and provide clear insights to support Executive and Board decision-making.

This is a full-time, ongoing role, with flexibility to consider a 0.8 FTE arrangement for the right candidate. Business-related travel will be required from time to time.

Key Responsibilities Include

- Enterprise planning and integration: lead a practical organisation-wide planning approach aligned to strategic priorities.
- bring together business unit plans and priorities to provide a clear view of organisational activity and alignment with strategic priorities.




- Organisational alignment: identify interdependencies, duplication, competing priorities and sequencing issues to support coordinated planning across the organisation.
- Strategic advice and decision support: consolidate planning and organisational insights to inform executive discussions, prioritisation and decision-making.
- Executive and board reporting: prepare transparent, high-quality reports on organisational priorities, progress against business plans, emerging risks, pressures and capacity considerations.
- Facilitation and engagement: collaborate with leaders and teams across the organisation to facilitate planning discussions, strengthen alignment and build a shared understanding of priorities.
- Capacity and resources: provide visibility of organisational capacity and connect planning with workforce, technology and financial resource considerations.
- Continuous improvement: refine planning frameworks, tools and processes to keep them practical, efficient and fit for purpose.
- Embed a culture of transparent, insight driven planning.

About You

You will bring

- Relevant tertiary qualification in strategy, business, management, commerce, economics or a related discipline, or equivalent significant professional experience
- Demonstrated experience establishing strategic planning, or organisational performance frameworks and embedding them across an organisation.
- Experience working with senior executives and translating strategic priorities into practical organisational plans
- Demonstrated experience developing Executive and/or Board-level reports.
- Experience working across organisational boundaries and influencing without direct authority




- Demonstrated ability to facilitate planning, prioritisation and alignment across diverse stakeholders, acting as a trusted connector and building shared understanding and practical outcomes across organisational boundaries.
- Proven ability to set and manage multiple priorities and complete tasks to deadlines while adjusting to shifting priorities and challenges with a positive and flexible approach.
- Excellent interpersonal and strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Strong digital literacy, including advanced skills in record-keeping, word processing and document formatting using approved AI tools to increase efficiency, proficiency in the Microsoft suite and online meeting programs such as Zoom & Teams.
- Familiarity with contract management systems.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and be a proactive team player.
- Willingness to engage in business related travel if required.
