This is a volunteer policy-writing position, and the key responsibilities are to:
- Assist the executive board in drafting and refining concise monthly, quarterly, biannual, and annual reports.
- Attend fortnightly meetings with our executive team to discuss report progress.
- Attend meetings with State and Federal Members of Parliament about the policy briefs we will present.
Expected Time Commitment: Maximum of 5 hours a week. This can vary depending on policy writing deadlines and meetings to attend. Location Type: Hybrid. Policy writing will be largely remote; however, MP meetings will be in person. Team meetings will preferably be in person, but remote options are available.
Candidates applying for this position will be asked to provide a policy proposal on an issue they believe is affecting young people (Max 250 words)

Policy Acumen: Proven commitment to public policy, with a transparent understanding of legislative, regulatory, and decision-making processes.
Written Communication: Exceptional ability to construct transparent, persuasive, and publication-ready written material.
Analytical Research: Strong qualitative and quantitative research capabilities, including synthesising statutory material, academic studies, and stakeholder feedback.
Meticulous Execution: High attention to detail with an eye for nuance, logical consistency and rigorous proofreading.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: A proven capacity to thrive in multidisciplinary teams.
