Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Construction Estimator to join our team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates and tenders for a range of construction projects.

Working closely with project managers, clients, subcontractors and suppliers, you will assess project requirements, calculate costs and prepare detailed quotations to ensure projects are priced accurately and competitively.

Key Responsibilities

- Review project plans, drawings, specifications and scope of works.
n
- Prepare detailed and accurate project estimates and costings.
n
- Calculate labour, materials, plant, equipment, subcontractor and disposal costs.
n
- Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
n
- Prepare competitive tenders and formal client quotations.
n
- Identify project risks, exclusions, assumptions and potential variations.
n




- Liaise with clients, builders, architects, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to clarify project requirements.
n
- Attend site inspections and pre-tender meetings when required.
n
- Research current material, labour, plant and subcontractor costs.
n
- Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.
n
- Work with project managers and operations teams to ensure estimates are practical and achievable.
n
- Assist with tender submissions, negotiations and contract handovers.
n
- Monitor project costs against original estimates and provide feedback to improve future pricing.
n
- Ensure estimates are prepared within required deadlines.
n
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail across all estimates.
