About Noosa Day Hospital
Noosa Day Hospital is a newly opened multidisciplinary facility. This is a unique opportunity to join the founding team and shape the culture, practices and standards of a brand-new service.
The hospital features three state-of-the-art operating theatres and contemporary recovery and patient care areas. We support a broad range of specialties, including Ophthalmology, General Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Gastroenterology, Orthopaedics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Breast Surgery, Pain Management and MOHS Surgery.
Located within the Noosa Health Precinct, the hospital will operate alongside specialist consulting suites and allied health services, delivering integrated surgical care from pre-admission through to recovery.
We are looking for an experienced Procurement Officer (Stores) to join us on a permanent part time basis, working four days per week.
The role of the Procurement Officer is to:
- Develop and maintain systems and processes to ensure quality of service in the management of purchasing processes and stock control.
- Ensure all processes associated with purchasing and receiving of goods are in place and accurate.
- Review current purchasing and store systems, tracking cost increases and making recommendations to assist in future purchasing decisions.
- Ensure all procedures relating to procurement are organised, efficient, and reflect the facilities requirements for surgical consumables based on current surgical activity.
- Maintain a close working relationship with the finance department to ensure all documentation required for financial reporting is in place.
Essential criteria
- At least 2 years’ inventory control and logistical experience.
- Experience working in a hospital environment desirable.
- Current driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of, and experience in using a broad range of purchasing methodologies, with emphasis on purchasing negotiation and inventory management.
- Well-developed organisational skills, with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads and meet competing deadlines.
- High level of computer skills in Excel, spread sheets and word processing. Demonstrated understanding of financial reports.
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate at the highest level with a wide range of suppliers.
