The Procurement & Supply Chain Manager is responsible for establishing, developing and leading the procurement and supply chain capability for the organisation's Defence Division. This role will provide strategic leadership across supplier development, sourcing, purchasing, inventory planning, contractual negotiations and supplier performance management to support the successful delivery of Defence and associated engineering and manufacturing projects.
The position will play a critical role in building a resilient, compliant and high-performing supply chain network that supports operational excellence, cost competitiveness and business growth within the Defence sector.
Lead procurement and supply chain activities for Defence projects, ensuring materials, services, and subcontractors are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively.
- Leverage your Defence industry knowledge and supplier network to identify, evaluate, and manage high-performing suppliers and strategic partners.
- Negotiate commercial terms,
contracts, pricing, and supplier agreements to deliver value and minimise risk.
- Support tenders and bids through supplier engagement, pricing, lead time management, and market intelligence.
- Manage supply chain risks, inventory planning, forecasting, and supplier performance to ensure project delivery objectives are met.
- Drive procurement best practices, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Defence Division.
About You
- Proven Defence procurement and supply chain experience with the ability to hit the ground running.
- Strong supplier network and knowledge of the Defence industry and supply market.
- Understanding of Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) requirements.
- Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, and contract management.
- Commercially astute with solid stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Experienced in managing supply chain risk, supplier performance, and procurement governance.
- Australian citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain relevant Defence security clearances (NV1 preferred).
Desirable
- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business, Engineering or a related discipline.
- Professional procurement accreditation (CIPS, MCIPS, CPPP or equivalent).
