McArthur is seeking an experienced Program Reporting Specialist to support a complex, large-scale Commonwealth Government transformation program based in Canberra.
This is a senior, hands-on opportunity for an experienced PMO, Program Reporting or Portfolio Reporting professional who can bring together information across multiple workstreams and translate complex delivery data into transparent, accurate and meaningful reporting for senior executives and governance forums.
Previous Commonwealth/Federal Government experience is strongly preferred, particularly within large transformation, reform or regulatory environments.
The Opportunity
You will work closely with program leadership, PMO teams, delivery teams and key stakeholders to provide program-wide visibility across performance, milestones, risks, issues, dependencies and outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include
- Developing and maintaining integrated program reporting frameworks, templates and standards
- Producing weekly, fortnightly, monthly and ad hoc program reporting
- Developing executive dashboards, scorecards and performance reporting
- Consolidating and validating reporting inputs from multiple projects and workstreams
- Monitoring delivery against program plans, milestones, schedules and objectives
- Analysing performance information to identify trends, risks, issues and interdependencies
- Preparing executive reports, briefing papers, presentations and governance materials
- Supporting senior executive governance and program oversight forums
- Maintaining reporting across risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions
- Supporting integrated schedules, roadmaps and milestone reporting
- Assisting with assurance activities, audits, reviews and gateway assessments
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes, automation and data visualisation
- Working collaboratively across business, technology and program delivery teams
About You To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring:
- 5+ years' experience in program reporting, PMO reporting or portfolio reporting within large and complex government programs
- Strong experience within Commonwealth/Federal Government environments, or comparable highly regulated government programs
- Demonstrated experience developing executive-level dashboards, governance reporting and performance reporting frameworks
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex delivery information, risks, dependencies and performance data
- Experience preparing high-quality reporting, briefing materials and presentations for senior executives and governance forums
- Strong understanding of government governance, assurance and audit requirements
- Advanced capability across Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Azure DevOps/DevOps and Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders and gather reporting inputs across multiple workstreams
- Strong written communication skills and excellent attention to detail
Highly Regarded
- Commonwealth Government transformation, reform or regulatory change experience
- Agile, SAFe or hybrid delivery experience
- Automated reporting and data visualisation experience
- PRINCE2, MSP, PMBOK or similar project/program management qualifications
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Business, Project Management, Information Management, Data Analytics or a related discipline
Contract Details
- Canberra based
- Full-time - 40 hours per week (overtime will be paid as relevant)
- Contract through to 30 June 2027
- Potential extension opportunities
- $75-$85 per hour + super
- Onsite working arrangements
- Australian citizenship required
- Baseline security clearance required
- National Police Check required
