Role Description The Project Manager – Rail will oversee the planning, coordination, and delivery of rail infrastructure projects for government and transport clients. In this full-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne, VIC, you will manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and risks while working closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders; some work from home is acceptable.
Day-to-day responsibilities include leading project meetings, tracking progress against milestones, preparing reports and documentation, supporting procurement and logistics activities, and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations. You will be expected to identify and resolve issues,
manage dependencies across multiple workstreams, and maintain clear communication with clients and partners throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications
- Experience in Project Management, with a strong track record of managing rail or transport infrastructure projects.
- Skills in Expediting and working as an Expeditor to monitor supplier performance and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
- Knowledge of Inspection processes, including quality assurance and compliance checks for rail and civil works.
- Competence in Logistics Management to coordinate project resources, materials, and scheduling across multiple sites.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in engineering, project management, transport planning, or a related discipline.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including risk, schedule, and cost management.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a hybrid environment, balancing on-site presence with remote collaboration.
