About The Role This is a role for a Project Officer – City Design to support the team designing and delivering upgrades to parks and reserves, and implementing the Ballarat Open Space Strategy. It will lead, support and be involved with projects to improve streetscapes, urban renewal sites, parks and reserves, linear trail and transport corridors and other key sites and precincts. The role is flexible in terms of working arrangements, location and number of days per week. The most important factor is your technical capacity and motivation to make a difference to the open spaces and public realm of Ballarat.

City Design is a unit within the Development and Growth Division, responsible for delivering quality landscape design projects and undertaking planning for the open space network.

This is a terrific opportunity for a landscape architect or open space planner to bring that expertise to a passionate group of design and project professionals.

About You





We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced people and design leader with a passion for the design and planning of high-quality open spaces, parks and reserves.

Qualifications And Experience

- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture, Open Space Planning or related discipline or relevant practical experience working on projects in open spaces and the public realm
- Demonstrated experience designing / delivering and or communicating projects which are intended to improve open spaces, parks, reserves and the public realm, within a local government context desirable
- Strong administrative and organisational skills including experience in project management and preparation oftender documentation, contracts, briefings, proposals etc.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated experience in managing relationships in a political environment
- Proven attention to detail and ability to be planned and organised.
- Intermediate proficiency with using computer programs and systems (AutoCAD, the Adobe Suite, SketchUp and/or GIS systems experience is desirable)
