About the Role As a Project Officer in the Community Partnerships Branch within Aboriginal Affairs you will support the delivery of policy and program initiatives that advance NSW Government commitments to Aboriginal communities. You will coordinate projects, provide operational and administrative support, and work collaboratively with government agencies, community organisations and Aboriginal stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for Discrete Aboriginal Communities.

A key focus of the role is supporting engagement with these communities through the Aboriginal Communities Emergency Management Program, contributing to long-term social, cultural and economic outcomes. Travel across NSW is an important part of the role, enabling you to build relationships on Country, understand local priorities and support the delivery of initiatives across metropolitan, regional and remote NSW.

We’re Looking For

- Policy and Project Delivery: Some experience supporting policy initiatives or service delivery projects, including contributing to research, implementation and evaluation activities.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Communication: Ability to engage and communicate effectively with government, community and external stakeholders, and contribute to the preparation of transparent, high-quality advice.
- Cultural Capability: Demonstrated awareness of and ability to communicate respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, with an understanding of issues that may impact communities.
- Strategic Thinking and Problem Solving: Ability to analyse information,



identify practical solutions and contribute to advice that supports program and reform outcomes. Collaboration and Relationship Management: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships and collaborate effectively across teams, agencies and communities.
- Travel requirements: This role involves frequent travel across NSW, including to regional and remote Discrete Aboriginal Communities. Travel may occur regularly and, depending on project and community needs, may require extended driving and overnight stays. Applicants must hold a current NSW driver license and have access to a suitable vehicle.
