The opportunity

We are seeking experienced Project Officers to support the operations of a Project, Program or Portfolio Office. The role will contribute to the delivery, governance and control of projects in a highly secure Defence environment.

This engagement is suited to candidates who combine strong project support fundamentals with practical experience applying project management methods, maintaining project controls, preparing high-quality documentation and supporting project managers and governance forums.

Key Details

- Location: Canberra On-site

- Clearance: TSPV

- Length: 12 months + 2 x 12 month extensions

- Rate: $120/hour

Key responsibilities

- Assist with preparations for project test, evaluation and acceptance programs.

- Apply project management methodologies to administrative and technical activities.

- Research, draft and prepare briefs, correspondence, reports and submissions for committee consideration.

- Maintain project financial records under the limited supervision of the Project Manager.





- Support effective project planning, scheduling, tracking, risk management and governance activities.

- Contribute to accurate project records, status reporting and project documentation in accordance with established methods and tools.

Essential Requirements

- Current TSPV security clearance at the time of submission.

- Ability to work onsite in Canberra in accordance with operational requirements.

- Demonstrated experience in project, program or portfolio support and project delivery activities.

- Robust written communication skills, including briefs, correspondence, reports and governance documentation.

- Ability to work with project management tools, processes and control mechanisms across schedule, risk, quality, finance and/or configuration management.

- Capacity to complete Organisation Suitability Assessment (OSA) prior to commencement.
