As our highly valued Advisor, Business Controls, your role will be working in Line 1, supporting the Operations division and business to effectively manage operational risk and compliance, helping strengthen our risk and control environment while building greater risk awareness and capability across the organisation.

You’ll make an impact by:

- Partnering with stakeholders to identify and assess risks, obligations and controls, supporting risk assessments, risk acceptances and divisional risk profiling.
- Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness of the control environment through control testing, quality assurance and ongoing oversight.
- Supporting incident and issue management, including root cause analysis, remediation and monitoring risks outside appetite.
- Monitoring risk appetite, key risk indicators, thresholds and triggers, while identifying emerging risks and regulatory changes.
- Providing meaningful risk insights through analysis of risk, control and GRC data to support informed decision-making.
- Supporting risk oversight of business and change initiatives, ensuring obligations, regulatory requirements and delivered risks are appropriately considered.
- Leveraging AI tools to improve processes, efficiency and ways of working across risk and controls.
- Coaching and supporting stakeholders to strengthen risk awareness, capability and culture across the business.

You’ll be part of the Enterprise Business Controls team, helping strengthen frontline accountability and ensuring risk is considered in the decisions we make for our customers.

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:

- 1–3 years’ experience in financial services, with a sound understanding of operational risk and compliance.
- Experience working within a risk, business controls or similar function.
- An understanding of risk governance, controls and reporting requirements within a financial institution.
- Solid analytical skills and the ability to translate risk information into practical insights and recommendations.
- A collaborative approach and confidence partnering with stakeholders to build risk capability and awareness.
- Knowledge of relevant financial services standards, legislation, regulatory requirements and industry codes.
- Experience in controls testing and assurance activities will be highly regarded.
- Experience with data analysis using SQL or Databricks, and exposure to AI risk or AI tools, will also be advantageous.
