About the role In consultation with the nom! Program Managers and Program Leads, this position is responsible for delivery of the nom! programs in the Perth metropolitan area and regional Western Australia, to improve food literacy of a range of target groups.
Integral to the role is the cultivation and fostering of relationships with host organisations, and regional partners.
This 1.0 FTE position provides opportunities to deliver nom! programs to a diverse range of target audiences through both contracted initiatives and fee-for-service models. The responsibilities are primarily focused on program planning, implementation, and evaluation of nom! programs.
Key responsibilities
- Assists with the planning, promotion and facilitation of nutrition education programs
- Assists with the recruitment of participants for nutrition education programs
- Assists with program reporting and sourcing of case studies
- Assists with the evaluation, collation of data, and the preparation of reports as directed
- Supports the supervision of student placements and projects as required
- Represent Foodbank WA on public health nutrition and health promotion related committees for the purpose of addressing food security and other relevant issues
- Supports other state-wide nutrition and health promotion initiatives and distributes associated resources
- Perform other ad -hoc duties as required
Essential criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree with a major in Nutrition.
- Demonstrated ability in planning, implementation, and evaluation of nutrition programs
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate training workshops
- Competent cookery skills and confident in a kitchen environment
- Demonstrated ability to form positive working relationships with adults, parents, professional groups, and other organisations.
- Demonstrated high level oral and written communication and negotiation skills, including strong written, presentation and verbal skills across mediums.
- Understanding of the issues related to food security and high need populations. Current knowledge of legislative obligations for Equal Opportunity, Disability Services and
- Occupational Safety and Health, and how these impact on employment and service delivery.
Desirable criteria:
- Post graduate qualification in Dietetics, Public Health, Health Promotion or other science related discipline, or extensive experience.
- Experience in cross-cultural settings, disability and community development settings, or with groups at risk of experiencing economic and social disadvantage.

- Hold valid Australian work rights
