Purchasing & Supply Planner

Ormeau, QLD | $100,000 - $130,000 + Super (dependent on experience) | Contract-to-Permanent

Our client is a fast-growing manufacturer in the probiotics and nutraceutical space, scaling rapidly through new licensing partnerships, exclusive distribution deals, and an expanding formulation pipeline. As the business grows, they're looking for a Purchasing & Supply Planner to join their supply team and take ownership of getting the right ingredients landed on time, every time.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, transactional purchasing and supply role, not strategic sourcing, and not demand planning. You'll be responsible for coordinating the timely delivery of ingredients from multiple global suppliers, ensuring everything converges on-site in time for production. With around 20 ingredients per product sourced from up to 7 suppliers worldwide, this role requires someone who thrives on detail, coordination, and problem-solving under pressure.

What You'll Do

- Manage purchase orders and coordinate ingredient delivery from multiple international suppliers, including varying lead times (5-70 days)
- Track and manage ingredients through cold chain and standard freight processes, including data logger coordination for temperature-sensitive stock
- Ensure ingredients land at least 4 weeks ahead of production to allow for on-site testing and release
- Manage expediting or reshipment when testing or delivery issues arise
- Conduct physical stock checks, particularly for high-value ingredients




- Liaise closely with overseas suppliers (including Chinese suppliers) to manage timelines and resolve issues
- Support customer service and inbound/outbound logistics functions, which report into this role
- Work off a rolling forecast derived from customer purchase orders to inform purchasing decisions

About You

- Experience managing multiple ingredients or components from different global suppliers with varying lead times, all converging for a single production run — this is essential
- Background in a manufactured or complex product workplace (healthcare, nutraceuticals, supplements, or FMCG manufacturing) — not simple buy-and-resell
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth business that's still building out its systems and processes
- A strong communicator who can manage demanding stakeholders, including overseas suppliers
- Proactive and solutions-focused, with a genuine comfort for ambiguity
- Junior-to-mid level experience — this role comes with strong direction and support, rather than requiring full autonomy
