OSHC Educators are responsible for ensuring delivery of quality care and support to children based in the OSHC program. Educators works collaboratively with the Director and team of educators to provide a recreational program of activities to the enrolled children. Educators ensures that parents and children are all welcomed into the service and that the workplace is inclusive for all who are part of the service community. They will also provide support in maintaining the OSHC premises in cleaning and organisation of activities and in some cases administrative duties.
Desirable Skills:
- Demonstrated interest in working with children and basic understanding of children’s development.
- Sound oral, reading and written English skills.
- Reliable, punctual and mature attitude to work.
- Well developed communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a pro-active, hands-on attitude.
- Understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, ethical behaviour, and policies and procedures.
- Experience working with children aged 5-12.
- Working knowledge of the My Time Our Place School Ages Framework.
- Working knowledge of the National Quality Framework.
Requirements or Willing to Obtain:
- Working With Childrens Check
- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Certification
- An approved first aid certificate
- Willingness to undertake other service required trainings
