Quality Assurance Engineer

12 month contract + Likely extension.

Full-time onsite work required – Brisbane CBD / Remote applicants will not be considered

We're partnering with a global technology organisation to recruit an experienced Quality Assurance Engineer.

Joining a high-performing Agile team, you'll play a key role in delivering quality software solutions used in complex, data-rich operational environments. This position combines hands-on testing, test automation, and quality engineering, with a strong focus on improving product quality across the full software delivery lifecycle.

What you'll be doing

- Own end-to-end quality assurance for features and user stories
- Define test approaches and execute testing against acceptance criteria
- Develop and maintain test plans, test cases and quality documentation
- Design, build and maintain automated tests across UI, API and backend services
- Perform API testing, validation and access control testing
- Enhance and support Playwright and Cucumber automation frameworks
- Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Monitor, analyse and resolve automation failures
- Execute regression, exploratory and acceptance testing
- Support test environment and test data management
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers and team leads
- Communicate quality risks, issues and recommendations to stakeholders
- Champion quality engineering and shift-left testing practices

What you need to bring

- 4+ years' experience in QA and automation testing
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery and the SDLC
- Proven experience designing and maintaining automated test suites
- Strong test design, analysis and risk-based testing skills




- Hands-on REST API testing experience
- Experience testing authentication and role-based access controls
- Proficiency with TypeScript, JavaScript and/or Java
- Strong experience using Playwright
- Experience with Cucumber or BDD frameworks
- Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines, ideally GitHub Actions
- Strong troubleshooting and defect investigation skills
- Experience across both manual and automated testing
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills
- Experience producing test documentation and reporting

- Experience working on enterprise software products
- Experience modernising or improving automation frameworks
- Exposure to complex, data-intensive platforms
- Strong advocacy for quality engineering best practices

- This role will require the successful candidate to work on site in Brisbane full time 5 days per week.
