Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Greater Brisbane Area

ISO 9001 and internal auditing experience required A privately owned Australian manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to take ownership of quality across a growing operation. Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager, you'll manage and maintain the quality system, lead audits, and give customers, suppliers, regulators and other key stakeholders confidence that everything the business produces meets relevant industry standards. You'll be working alongside a straight-talking, down-to-earth team, so the right person is practical, approachable and not precious.

About the Role

As Quality Assurance Manager, you'll run the day to day of the quality system as the business grows. That means keeping ISO 9001 in good shape, leading internal and external audits, maintaining procedures, and driving continuous improvement across operations. Just as important, you'll build a real quality culture, winning buy-in across the business by being practical and credible rather than by memo.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct internal audits and support external audits to ensure compliance with the Quality Management System and ISO 9001 accreditation
- Continuously improve, implement and maintain policies, standards and procedures
- Prepare and submit routine reports as required
- Develop initiatives that lift overall customer satisfaction and reduce comebacks




- Foster a robust quality culture across the business, including delivering internal training on the quality system
- Build and continually strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 3 years in a similar quality role within a manufacturing environment
- Solid, practical experience with ISO 9001
- Good working knowledge of manufacturing principles; a background in machinery design, fabrication, or heavy, automotive or mining equipment is a distinct advantage
- Familiarity with modern measuring equipment such as CMM is an advantage
- In-depth understanding of quality control procedures and relevant production standards
- Confident with problem-solving methods such as Ishikawa/fishbone diagrams or 5 Whys analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and a methodical, no-nonsense approach
- Strong communication skills, with leadership experience or a clear desire to grow into it

Qualifications

- Formal training in quality or internal auditing is valued, though capability matters more than the certificate
