We are seeking an experienced Records Management Officer to help strengthen ACARA’s records and information management practices and support an important program of organisational improvement.
About the role In this role, you will:
- Lead the development and implementation of ACARA’s records and information management framework.
- Coordinate the delivery of key records management audit remediation activities.
- Develop practical policies, procedures, guidance and training that support good recordkeeping across the organisation.
- Partner with teams across ACARA to embed consistent and compliant records management practices.
- Provide reporting and advice on records management performance, risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Support records sentencing and disposal activities in line with legislative and regulatory requirements.
To be successful, you will have:
- Experience developing and delivering records management, compliance or continuous improvement activities.
- Sound knowledge of records and information management legislation, standards and best practice.
- Experience developing and implementing records management frameworks, policies, procedures and guidance.
- The ability to translate complex requirements into practical advice and solutions.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build awareness and encourage positive change.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes.
- Experience supporting audit, assurance or remediation activities, ideally within a Commonwealth Government setting.

ACARA offers an attractive salary range of $97,661 to $104,402 base per annum, plus superannuation. Applications will close at 11:59 pm Sydney time on Sunday, 27 September 2026.
